Cpost was a Dutch online or electronic magazine with awe-inspiring photos, colourful stories, positive news and interesting facts about Curaçao for all Dutch-reading Curaçao lovers.
Initially, Cpost was a simple e-letter to the customers of webshop books.an to inform them of new available products. Written and created by Elodie Heloise and me.
The name Cpost referred to Curaçao ‘post’ (Dutch for mail) and the Dutch word ‘zeepost’, sea or surface mail. In the old days, before fax and e-mail were invented, mail from the Caribbean islands to Europe were sent by airmail or sea mail. Airmail was faster (5 days) but also far more expensive. Therefore airmail letters were one or two thin, translucent letter pads, specifically designed to be as lightweight as possible. Packages, large letters and photographs were sent by sea mail. It took 4 – 5 weeks to receive such a long-awaited letter.
From October 2006 to June 2012, it was put together by Elodie and me with the help of an enthusiastic team of Curaçao professionals.
Without paid ads. Curaçao lovers could subscribe via e-mail for free. Everyone who contributed to magazine Cpost cooperated selflessly. Just for the fun of it.
When the e-letter became an e-magazine, the team behind Cpost became bigger. Plenty Curaçao lovers contributed to magazine Cpost. And plenty Curaçao lovers subscribed to the magazine. In 2012, Cpost had more than 4.000 e-mail subscriptions and followers on social media.
Besides the online magazine, positive news articles and announcements of expositions and events were regularly posted on Cpost’s Curaçao Blog.
From February 2007 till April 2010 the colourful online magazine was published every two months. The online magazine was build in HTML.
