Hiking in the hamlets The Rith and Lies near Breda

Thanks to the dark weather the views were amazing. The overwhelming skies reminded me of paintings of 17th century Dutch landscape painter Jacob van Ruisdael.

Today I went hiking in my own neighbourhood. I walked west to The Rith. A hamlet near Princenhage, located west of the city of Breda. I followed the hazardweg, a small dirt road between fields, that connects the Rith with Lies. I loved the way the setting amber sun created long shadows and highlighted the trees in atmospheric autumn colours.
